The Series Art in the Spirit of Place arose from an ongoing fascination with architectural ruin, ancient trees and redemption, as expressed in the surreal, abstract landscape. This series also symbolizes a time of transformation for me, as I let go of all that I had built in my life, and set out on an unchartered journey to parts unknown. Juxtaposed in paint on canvas, there is beauty, complexity and the mystery of my making, in this, the spirit of place.

The Story of Reverie

“Reverie” began with the idea of moving through space while daydreaming.

I often walk, lost in thought, while the world dances along beside me, reflected in wet roads, glass buildings and the changing landscape. It captures my attention, peripherally, softly.

These memory fragments take shape as a mosaic of the experience, real and imagined, edges blurred. “Reverie” is that journey through movement, refracted light, moments of curiosity and quiet places to rest.
